It seems two gamers have recently stumbled upon the maximum amount of gold one could possess in World of Warcraft.

Apparently that amount is 214,748 gold, 36 silver and 48 copper. When put together, that makes 2,147,483,648 which is also known as 2^31 and happens to match the maximum positive value of a signed integer. If only they used an unsigned one (allowing twice that much), or longs instead (a lot more).

But in a way, those two individuals can praise Blizzard for not forgetting to implement a fix so that they can't get any higher. One more wow gold piece and they could have ended up at -2,147,483,647 gold. Now thát would be bad...
